CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Jackie Moore, who has served as assistant women's basketball coach at University of Massachusetts for the last three years, has been named assistant women's basketball coach at Boston College, according to an announcement made by Boston College head women's basketball coach Cathy Inglese.
"We feel very excited to have Jackie join our staff," says Inglese. "She brings much enthusiasm along with a wealth of experience both in recruiting and on the floor."
Moore was one of Massachusetts' assistants from 1999-2002 where she coordinated the team's recruitment of prospective student-athletes, scheduled and scouted opponents, and oversaw the team's pre- and post-season conditioning programs.
Prior to her post at Massachusetts, Moore served as the head coach at Santa Fe Community College for six years (1993-99). During her time at the Gainesville, FL school, she was responsible for all administrative and coaching aspects of the Lady Saint women's basketball program.
Before taking her head coaching position, Moore also served two years (1991-92) as an assistant women's basketball coach at Armstrong State College in Savannah, GA. Moore started her stint at Armstrong State as one of the team's perimeter players. Graduating in 1991, she assumed an assistant coaching position for two seasons (1991-93).
A native of Panama City, FL, Moore graduated from Armstrong State in 1991 with a degree in psychology. She also holds a master of science from Georgia Southern University ('93).
