Three Hockey Players Taken In NHL Draft

Three Boston College hockey players -- John Adams, Ned Havern and Ryan Murphy -- were selected in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft that was conducted on June 22-23, 2002 in Toronto, Ontario.
Adams was the lone Eagles taken on Saturday, June 22. The Wayzata, Minn. Resident was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (82nd overall). Murphy was taken by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round (185th overall), while Havern was chosen by the Dallas Stars in the ninth round (273rd overall).
All three players will be sophomores at Boston College this fall.
In other NHL-related news, former Eagle star Jeff Farkas was traded from Toronto to Vancouver on Sunday, June 23. The Canucks exchanged the services of Josh Holden to acquire Farkas.
