Two Baseball Players Earn Freshman All-America Accolades

Boston College freshmen Chris Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) and Drew Locke (Weymouth, Mass.) both earned 2002 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors, according to an announcement made by the Collegiate Baseball newspaper.
Lambert, a righthanded pitcher, posted a 9-3 record and a 2.76 earned run average in his first collegiate campaign. He threw five complete games. He was previously recognized as the BIG EAST Conference's Pitcher of the Year as well as its Rookie of the Year.
Locke, the Eagles' starting center fielder, hit .452 with 13 doubles and 19 RBI in 2002. He captured BIG EAST All-Conference third team honors.
Boston College finished the 2002 season with a 30-25 record, earning its second BIG EAST Tournament berth in the last three years.
