Sailing Qualifies For North American Championships

Boston - The Boston College sailing team qualified for the ISCA North American Dinghy Championships to be held at the Honolulu Community College Marine Education and Training Center at Keehi Lagoon on the south shore of Oahu on June 5-7.? The Eagles earned their berth by finishing second at the New England Dinghy Championships hosted by Connecticut College and held at the Mitchell College beach in New London, Conn.? The Eagles finished two points behind Dartmouth in the aggregate scoring.
Senior Tyler Pruett and freshman Joy MacDougall finished third in the A division winning one of seventeen heats and finishing in the top three seven times.? In the B division juniors Mark Teborek and Carrie Howe earned a second place finish with three heat wins and seven podium placements.? The Eagles will also be joined in Hawaii by Harvard University and Yale University who round out the top four teams at the Coast Guard Bowl/New England Dinghy Championships.? Tufts University and the U.S. Naval Academy were selected with at-large berths to complete the NEISA delegation competing at the North American Dinghy Championships.
