Schmidt was awarded the Thomas J. McElroy, Jr. '80 Scholarship. The scholarship is annually presented to the men's and women's soccer players who demonstrate the on-the-field and off-the-field qualities of Tom McElroy, who was a standout goalkeeper on the men's soccer team in the late 70s.
