Men's Basketball Honors Announced

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Junior Uka Agbai and sophomore Ryan Sidney each received two honors, marking the highlights of the 2001-02 Boston College Cage Club Men's Basketball Banquet. The event was held in the University's Heights Room on Friday, April 5.
Agbai captured the Frank Power Memorial Award, and also shared team MVP honors with classmate Troy Bell. The Power Award is presented to the player who best demonstrates the dedication, spirit and loyalty that was characteristic of the Eagles' former coach.
Sidney gained the Top Rebounder Award as well as the annual Coaches' Award. Sidney was the top Division I rebounder among players who stood 6-2 or shorter.
Other award winners were: junior Adam DeMong (Academic), senior Brian Ross (Sixth Man), senior Kenny Walls (Dominic Pressley Top Defender), and senior Joel Pardalis (Mary Kay Waldron Managers' Award).
Boston College finished the 2001-02 season with a 20-12 mark, earning the program's second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.
