Sailing Earns Third At Thompson Trophy

Boston - The Boston College sailing team competed in numerous events this weekend.? On Saturday, the Eagle freshmen were at Boston University taking second place at the One-Division Freshmen Series race four.? Freshmen Skip Paul and Kristi Pfianz raced their way to the runner-up spot.? The freshman series was the only Saturday only event of the weekend for the Eagles.
The sailing team grabbed its best varsity finish of the weekend at the Thompson Trophy hosted by Connecticut College. The Eagles took third place in a field of eighteen, with a third place in the A division and an eighth place in the B division. Senior Tyler Pruett paired with freshman Joy MacDougal in the A division and junior Mark Teborek with sailed with freshman Julie Wilson in the B division for the Eagles at the Thompson Trophy. The Eagles competed in the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association Championships hosted by the University of Rhode Island.? Boston College earned a seventh place spot with a sixth place in the A division by junior Carrie Howe and senior Sarah Helming, and a seventh place in the B division by senior Cryssa Byers and junior Kate Wisotzkey. In the Priddy Trophy hosted by MIT, the Eagles picked up a fifth place finish in the two-day event with freshmen Jeff Bonnani and Jen Doyle competing.?
