CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- Senior assistant captain Kelly McManus (Dedham, Mass.) was chosen as the U.S. College Hockey On-line Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, according to an announcement by the Web site. In three Boston College wins last week, McManus recorded nine points on four goals and five assists.
On Tuesday, Jan. 29, McManus netted one goal and one assist as the Eagles defeated Bowdoin College, 4-1. On Friday, Feb. 1, she assisted on Alaina Clark's game winner and then added an insurance goal in a 5-1 win over Quinnipiac University. She capped off the week with a five-point effort (two goals and three assists) in a 5-0 win over the Braves on Feb. 2. McManus factored in all five goals that evening as the Eagles pushed their winning streak to a season-high three games.
Each week, USCHO.com recognizes the top offensive and defensive performances among Division I men's and women's players. McManus was honored this week with Northeastern's Chanda Gunn, who was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week.
Boston College is currently 7-14-3 overall and 3-10-2 in ECAC play. The team will next travel to New Hampshire on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Whittemore Center.
