Eaves And Voce Among Walter Brown Award Finalists

BOSTON - Two Boston College sophomores - Ben Eaves and Tony Voce - are among the 12 finalists for the Walter Brown Award. The award is given annually by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston to the top American-born collegiate hockey player in New England.
Eaves has missed a total of 15 games this season, 13 with a rib injury and two while representing the United States at the 2002 IIHF World Junior Championships. Still, he is second on the club in scoring with 28 points (nine goals, 19 assists) in 14 games. He has missed 10 HOCKEY EAST games this season, but ranks among the league leaders in both scoring (tied for 14th) and assists (tied for sixth).
The Faribault, Minn. native has scored at least one point in every game he has played, except one, this season. He has nine multiple-point games.
Voce leads the Eagles in scoring - and is tied for 15th nationally - with 36 points. He is tied for sixth nationally in goal scoring with 21 goals and tied for second nationally with four shorthanded goals.
The Philadelphia native has recorded 10 multiple-point games this season, including five multiple-goal games. He has two hat tricks in his sophomore campaign.

Boston College student-athletes have won the last three Walter Brown Awards. Brian Gionta (2001) and Mike Mottau (1999 and 2000) are the most recent award recipients. BC players have won a total of 20 Walter Brown Awards, the most from any school.
