BOSTON (AP) - Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) scored 22 points and Amber Jacobs (Clarks Summitt, Pa.) had 19 to lead No. 21 Boston College to an 88-49 victory over Harvard Sunday afternoon at Conte Forum on the campus of Boston College.
Becky Gottstein (Albany, N.Y.) had 17 points and Kim Mackie (Peterborough, Ontario) added 10 for the Eagles as they improved to 6-1 overall.
Hana Peljto scored 21 points to lead Harvard (5-3), which committed 29 turnovers and shot under 40 percent.
BC shot 54 percent (34-of-63) and matched its season high with 19 assists. Senior point guard Brianne Stepherson (Middleton, Mass.) led the assist-charge, dishing out a career-high 10.
The Eagles, who never trailed and were tied only twice in the opening three minutes, took charge early in the first half.
Jacobs' 3-pointer triggered a 17-5 run over a 4:13 span that pushed BC's lead to 24-12. Deveny had six points and Jacobs added five in the run.
The Crimson, the defending Ivy League champs, closed to within six before the Eagles scored six unanswered points to open it to 30-18 on Deveny's jumper with just under nine minutes left in the first half.
BC led 42-28 at halftime.
The Eagles' advantage didn't fall below double digits in the second half.
Boston College will next travel to West Lafayette, Ind. for a Saturday tilt with sixth-ranked Purdue (7-0).
