CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Yale University came to the Flynn Recreation Center ready to swim well on Friday evening. The Bulldogs topped the host Eagles in both the men's and women's events. Yale edged out the women by a score of 158-142, while the men lost 200.5-74.5.
The women were able to place swimmers in numerous events. Most notably, Nina Suryoutomo, Lauren Keibler and Kathleen McCann turned in top performances. Suryoutomo and Keibler finished first as members of the 200-medley relay squad, and earned individual top finishes in the 50-freestyle and 200-butterfly respectively. McCann was first in both the 100- and 200-meter backstroke events. On the diving boards, Katelyn Cox dominated the 1-meter competition. Despite the top finishes, they could not earn enough points to overcome the Bulldogs.
Tim Tully's performance in the 200-backstroke was the high point for the men's team. His 1:29.2 was good for first place, the Eagles' only first place finish on the day.
