Tim Kelleher named HOCKEY EAST Defensive Player of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College senior goalie Tim Kelleher earned HOCKEY EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced today. Kelleher earned the accolade after stopping 30 of 32 Boston University shots in a 3-2 Boston College victory last Friday.
Kelleher is off to the best start of his career, having gone undefeated at 5-0-0 in five games. He leads all HOCKEY EAST goalies in conference play in goals-against average (1.25) and save percentage (.943).
The Eagles (8-0-1, 5-0-0 HE) are off to their best start since the 1949-50 season when the team opened at 10-0-0. BC's 5-0-0 conference record is its best since starting 5-0-0 in 1990-91. Boston College is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.
The team returns to action Tuesday, Nov. 19, when they host No. 2 New Hampshire at 7 p.m.
