Women's Basketball Tabbed In Preseason Rankings

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's basketball team has been ranked in the preseason top 25 according to two different publications. In recent issues of Street & Smith's and Women's Basketball Magazine, the Eagles made an appearance in the 2002-03 Top 25.
According to Street & Smith's, Boston College is ranked No. 14 while the team is No. 16 in Women's Basketball Magazine.
Boston College returns nine letter winners, including three starters, from last year's team that went 23-8 on the season. With their third NCAA appearance in four years, last year's Eagles finished third in the BIG EAST with a 12-4 record.
The Eagles will face four opponents also ranked in the two polls, including Notre Dame (4/7), Purdue (10/9), Connecticut (12/13) and Tulane (15/14). Boston College will tip off the 2002-03 season with a home contest against Siena on November 24.
