Field Hockey Edged By Connecticut, 1-0, In Overtime

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The 14th-ranked Boston College field hockey team dropped a 1-0 overtime contest against Connecticut Wednesday evening at Alumni Stadium on the campus of Boston College. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 10-3 overall (2-1 BIG EAST). The Huskies improve to 8-5 (2-0 BIG EAST).
The Huskies capitalized on a penalty corner just over two minutes into the first overtime session for the win. Mary Jo Malone connected on a rebound from an initial Kelly Cochrane shot.
BC goalkeeper Lauren Hill (Bethesda, Md.) made seven saves on the evening.
Boston College will next travel to Holy Cross for a 1:00 p.m. contest Sunday afternoon. The Eagles return to Alumni Stadium Sunday, October 20 when they face Villanova.
