CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The 15th-ranked Boston College field hockey team earned a 2-0 shutout win over Brown Friday evening at Alumni Stadium on the campus of Boston College. With the win, the Eagles improve to 10-2 overall (2-0 BIG EAST) while extending their current win streak to five games. The Bears fall to 2-5.
Freshman Sabrina Lazzari (Weston, Mass.) scored both of her team's goals, for the first and second of her career. She put the ball in the net first at the 13:30 mark and again at the 24:33 mark. BC would hold that 2-0 lead through the rest of the game. Junior forward Kim French (Shrewsbury, Mass.) collected an assist on the second goal. It was French's first assist on the season, upping her point total to a team-leading 17.
BC goalkeeper Lauren Hill (Bethesda, Md.) made four saves en route to preserving the win and collecting her seventh shutout of the season. It was Hill's 11th career shutout.
Boston College will return to BIG EAST action next Wednesday when it hosts Connecticut in a 7:00 game at Alumni Stadium.
