PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Boston College women's soccer team closed the 2002 regular season in winning fashion, defeating Brown, 2-1, in Providence. The win finishes the Eagles at 11-7-1, while Brown drops to 5-7-2 record.
Sophomore Lindsey Fairweather got the Eagles on the board first at 9:13 into the match with the assist credited to junior Sarah Rahko. The goal was Fairweather's third of the season.
Boston College held the lead until 87:33 into the contest when Meghan Schreck knotted the score at one apiece.
The Eagles saved the best for last, with McGregor scoring the gamewinner with 18 seconds remaining in the contest on an unassisted tally.
Boston College outshot Brown 16-7.
The Eagles open postseason play Sunday, Nov. 3, when they travel to Villanova to face the Wildcats in the quarterfinal round of the BIG EAST tournament. Kick off is slated for 1 p.m.
