CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's swimming team remains undefeated this year with Friday evening's 144-99 victory over Marist College. The Eagles earned first-place points in eight events to dominate the meet.
The Eagles dominated the relay events, with teams qualifying for first and second place in the 400-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays. Holly Boucher and Liz Byron finished first and second in the 200-yard freestyle, and Kathleen McCann grabbed the title in the 200-yard IM as well as in the 200-yard backstroke. Karen Tellekamp earned first in the 500-yard freestyle event, while Lauren Keibler and Erin Fransen finished back-to-back for the Eagles in the 200-yard breaststroke. Boston College demonstrated its depth in the 100-yard freestyle race, with Eagles finishing in the top three spots.
The 2002-03 Eagles proved they have a talented pool of swimmers by earning points not only with the noted first place finishes, but also by adding to the team score by gaining points across the board.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season. They are next in action on Saturday, Oct. 26 when they face Fordham University, St. John's, and the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn.
