Davis Named The ECAC Eastern Rookie Of The Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- Boston College freshman goaltender Lisa Davis was named the ECAC Eastern League Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 14, 2002. The Falmouth, Mass. native backstopped the Eagles' defense, averaging 39 saves per game, with a 2.59 GAA and .936 save percentage in three league games.
Davis made a career-high 44 saves in the Eagles 3-3 tie against the University of Maine on January 9. She followed that up with a 37-save performance as BC rallied to tie Connecticut 1-1 on January 12. She finished the week with a strong 35-save effort in a 4-1 loss to UConn on Sunday, January 13.
For the season, Davis has registered a 2.80 GAA with a .910 save percentage, starting all 16 matches for the Eagles. In addition, she has had 30+ save-performances in eight games and has earned shut outs in all three BC victories this year.
Davis and BC next take the ice against the Friars of Providence on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at Schneider Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
