WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Behind two goals from Alon Lubezky, the Hartford men's soccer team defeated Boston College, 2-0, in a non-league game. The game was scheduled late last week to make up for games both teams had to cancel due to last Tuesday's national tragedy.
Lubezky netted the Hawks' first goal in the fourth minute, then added the insurance goal in the 23rd minute for the win. The Eagles had several strong chances, but couldn't penetrate the Hartford back line.
Boston College back Martin Cantillo left the game in the 72nd minute with a shoulder injury and did not return.
Eagles keeper Danny Caruso recorded five saves in the loss as the Hawks out-shot BC 18-11 on the game. Hartford's Christoper Doyle also made five saves in the win.
With the loss, BC fell to 2-2-0 on the season, while Hartford improved to 4-1-0 overall. BC will next face Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.
