The Eagles (1-0) took game one of this tightly contested match 31-29. The Black Bears, however, would not back down and kept things close throughout. BC, propelled by a match-high 40 assists from freshman Jessica Brizzolara, was finally able to wear down the hosts in the second game, taking control of the match 30-28. The third game would see more of the same close scoring, as the Black Bears tried to pull one back. The Eagles, however, proved to be too deep, with 5 players registering at least 7 kills, and closed out the match 30-27.
The Sun-Sea Opener Invitational continues on Saturday with a double-header for the Eagles. BC firsts take the court at 10 a.m. against Eastern Washington University and then meets Army at 6 p.m.
