Four Boston College hockey players -- sophomore forwards Ben Eaves and Chuck Kobasew, and freshman forwards Ryan Murphy and Dave Spina -- will participate in their respective national junior evaluation camps this month.
Eaves, Murphy and Spina will compete at the USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y. from August 3-6.
Kobasew will attend Canada's National Junior Team Development Camp at the Father David Bauer Olympic Arena in Calgary, AB from August 1-10.
The U.S. evaluation camp roster is comprised of 43 players, including 11 who played with Division 1 college programs this past season. Five first-round selections from the 2001 NHL Entry Draft will compete.
Approximately 20 players from the camp will be selected to join six National Junior Team veterans to play on the Under-20 National Team in the fourth annual Summer Challenge in Lake Placid from August 7-11. The challenge will feature the U.S. and Finland playing a four-game series.
The Canadian camp features 44 players. The team will be led by head coach Stan Butler of the OHL's Brampton Battalion and assistant coaches Mike Kelly of the OHL's North Bay Centennials and Marc Habscheid of the WHL's Kelowna Rockets.
