Men's Golf Competes At Yale Spring Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Eagles competed in their second scheduled event of the spring season this weekend at the Yale University Spring Invitational. The event was held at the Yale University Golf Club in New Haven, Connecticut. Overall, the Eagles finished 10th out of 20 teams with a two-day stroke total of 631. The Eagle's top performer this weekend, once again, was freshman Sean McReynolds. McReynolds shot a 79 on Saturday, followed by a 76 on Sunday to finished tied for 24th place.
Also representing Boston College was Josh Folkerth. Folkerth tied for 38th individually with a two-day stroke tally of 157. Sophomore Bob Gregory shot a 79 both days to finish tied for 45th while Mike Rich shot two 84's, finishing tied for 84th place overall. Finally, Chris Sanossian finished tied for 57th with a 161 (80-81). There were 109 golfers representing 20 colleges and universities at the Invitational this weekend.
Taking team honors for first place was Army. Army had an impressive two-day total of 603 strokes (300-303). Individually, Dartmouth's Lee Birchall won top honors. Birchall shot even par both days (70-70).
Boston College's men's golf team will participate next in the Massachusetts State Championships. This event will be held on April 11-April 12, 2001.
