Hockey Announces 2001-02 Captains

Forward Jeff Giuliano will serve as captain of the 2001-02 Boston College hockey team and forward Ales Dolinar and defenseman Brooks Orpik will serve assistant captains, according to an announcement made by Eagles' head coach Jerry York.
All three players are now completing their junior years and will lead the hockey team as seniors.
Giuliano, who finished the 2000-01 season as the left wing on the Eagles' first line, has played in 128 games in his first three years at Boston College. He has played in every game since joining the team in the fall of 1998. Giuliano registered 36 points -- 14 goals and 22 assists -- in 43 games in his junior season, raising his collegiate total to 79 points -- 29 goals and 50 assists.
Dolinar, who centered the Eagles' third line this past season, has tallied 50 points -- 19 goals and 31 assists -- in 123 collegiate games. In his junior year, Dolinar recorded 23 points -- seven goals and 16 assists -- in 43 games.
Orpik, a 6-foot-3-inch, hard-hitting defenseman, registered 20 assists in 40 games this past season, bringing his three-year total to 41 points -- two goals and 39 assists -- in 119 games.
Boston College finished the 2000-01 season with a 33-8-2 record, setting the school record for victories in one season. The Eagles captured the Beanpot title, the HOCKEY EAST regular-season championship, the HOCKEY EAST Tournament crown and the NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Championship.
Boston College opens its 2001-02 season at Vermont on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001.
