Boston College Hosts Lady Eagle Golf Invitational

OSTERVILLE, Mass. - Boston College's women's golf team started their spring season this weekend by hosting the Lady Eagle Invitational at Oyster Harbors Golf Club in Osterville, Massachusetts. The event took place from Saturday, March 31 through Sunday, April 01, 2001. The Eagles placed 4th of 13 teams with a two round stroke tally of 712 (360-352). A field of 61 golfers represented 13 schools at the Invitational.
Boston College was led by sophomore Roxanne Somboonsiri who finished tied for 5th place overall with 170 strokes (80-90). Freshman Channing Lovejoy finished tied for 12th place with 176 strokes (90-86), while teammates Suzanne Carrazza, Jennifer Mitchell and captain Meghan Donoghue finished tied for 18th, 25th, and 46th place, respectively.
Taking first place overall at the Invitational was the University of Hartford. Hartford finished the two days with a 676 stroke count (338-338). Leading all individual scores was Hartford's Kristy Finlayson who finished with a stroke count of 155 (78-77).
Boston College will participate next in the University of Hartford Invitational from April 22 through April 23, 2001.
