Women's Lacrosse Snaps Four Game Losing Streak

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's lacrosse team snapped a four game losing streak, today, when they defeated Villanova, 11-9, in front of 203 fans at Alumni Stadium, in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Leading the Eagles with four goals was freshman Rachel Bausch.
Opening the scoring, the visiting Wildcats Meghan Carolan scored the first of her four goals just two minutes into the game. The Eagles rallied back scoring four goals of their own. The first Boston College goal was scored by Bausch from Tara Morley at 26:35. At 22:05, Chrisse DeMichele scored the first of her two goals to give the Eagles the lead. Lauren Miller scored at 21:22 and Bausch score again at 19:20 to give the Eagles a 4-1 lead. The Wildcats would cut the lead by one when Carolan scored her second goal at 18:03.
Scoring would battle back and forth for the remainder of the half but the Eagles would hold a solid 7-4 lead heading into the intermission. Scoring for Boston College were Bausch from Miller, Rachel Tella from Emily Ryan and Miller. Cecily Pierce and Carolan would net a shot apiece for Villanova.
To start the second half scoring, Villanova's Julie Feddeman sent one past Boston College goalie Rachel Zeller at 28:12. But the Eagles responded scoring at 26:09 when Miller netted her third goal of the game. At 10:05, the Wildcats added another tally when Sarah DePeters scored the first of her two goals. The Ealges would go on another scoring streak when DeMichele netted back-to-back goals at 9:31 and 9:24. The Eagles last goal would come at 7:40 from Bausch. Closing out the score, Villanova score two more goals from DePeters and Carolan at 4:29 and 2:57, respectively.
In goal for the Eagles, Zeller stopped seven Wildcats shots.
The Eagles will return to action when they host second ranked Georgetown at Alumni Stadium on Wed., March 28 at 3:00 p.m.
