WOMEN'S TENNIS HITS SHADE IN SUNSHINE STATE

MIAMI, Fla.-- The Boston College women's tennis team had three difficult matches this past weekend at Miami on Thursday, Feb. 15, Florida Atlantic on Friday, Feb. 16, and Florida International on Saturday, Feb. 17, falling in all three.
The Eagles struggled against the Hurricanes in a 6-1 defeat. The Eagles only point came from senior Cynthia Tow's singles victory over Alanna Broderick. Tow and senior Kiren Fernando also captured one of the three doubles matches defeating Broderick and Igna deVilliers.
Florida Atlantic also downed the Eagles, this time by a score of 4-3. The Eagles collected victories from K. Fernando and junior Ruta Veitas in singles play. Tow/K. Fernando and freshman Emily Hellberg and sophomore Anisha Fernando combined to capture the doubles point for the team.
The Eagles faced their third away match in as many days when they lsot to Florida International 7-0. The Golden Panthers swept every match including all six singles and all three doubles matches to secure the victory.
The women's tennis team will next see action on Friday, Feb. 23, when Temple comes to Chestnut Hill at 2:00 p.m. The women's tennis team is now 2-3 in dual matches and 2-1 in BIG EAST play.
