CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Boston College women's volleyball team defeated Providence College, 3-0 (30-20, 30-22, 30-18), Friday night at Power Gym. Freshman outside hitter Katie Andersen led the Eagles with 11 kills and 14 digs. The Eagle victory upped their mark to 18-10 overall, breaking the school record for wins, held by the 1987 team (17-15). With the win, the team also added to its school record for conference wins with its fifth (5-6). Providence dropped to 6-19 overall and 0-11 in conference play.

In game three, the Eagles would close the door on any Friar comeback. Sophomore middle blocker Nancy Legan led the way with her strong hitting. For the match, Legan contributed 11 kills for a career-high .647 hitting percentage and added six digs and seven total blocks.
For the Friars, Sarah Katinger turned in a solid performance, registering a match-high 13 kills along with nine digs.
