Kaltiainen Earns Rookie Of The Week Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman goaltender Matti Kaltiainen (Espoo, Finland) was honored as the HOCKEY EAST Rookie of the Week on November 5. He earned his first career win on Saturday, Nov. 3 when he stopped 33 shots in Boston College's 3-1 victory over Wisconsin in Madison.

Kaltiainen made 10 saves in the first period, nine in the second and 14 in the third as BC went on to win the contest. On the season, he has a 3.03 goals against average and a .883 save percentage.

With the win against Wisconsin, BC earned a split in its weekend series and moved to 3-4-1 overall on the season. The Eagles will next face Merrimack in the first of a four-game homestand on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at Kelley Rink.
