Sailing Qualifies for Atlantic Coast Championships

BOSTON - The Boston College sailing team took third in the Schell Trophy, hosted by MIT. The Eagles secure a podium finish in preparation for the Coed Atlantic Coast Championships hosted by the College of Charleston November 10-11. Junior Mark Teborek and freshman Julie Wilson paced the Eagles with a strong second place showing in the A division, while the pairings of junior Henrik Wennerstrom and sophomore Serene Saliba, and senior Tyler Pruett and freshman Joy MacDougall, for the final three races, combined to grab ninth place in the B division.
The sailing team also earned a third place in the Nickerson Trophy for Freshman. The third place finish qualifies the frosh team for the Atlantic Coast Championships held at Brown the weekend of November 10-11. Freshmen Ben Gent, Jeff Bonnanni, and Spencer Heydt combined for sixth place in the A division, and the duo of Frank Ustach and Caitlyn Rolfes captured the top slot in the B division.
The Eagles finished fourth in the Urn Trophy for women, at Harvard. Junior Carrie Howe, paired with senior Sarah Helming and freshman Jen Doyle, earned fourth in the A division. Senior Cryssa Byers sailed with junior Kate Wisotzkey to a sixth place showing in the B division. The finish secures a berth into the Women's Atlantic Coast Championships to be held at Navy November 10-11.
