CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Boston College women's volleyball team lost to the Seton Hall Pirates, 3-0 (30-27, 30-25, 31-29), on Sunday at Power Gym. With the loss, BC drops to 16-8 overall and 4-4 in the BIG EAST, while Seton Hall improves to 11-10 overall and 4-4 in the BIG EAST. Junior Rachel Bach led the Eagles with 13 kills, for a .385 hitting percentage, and two service aces.
BC came into the match needing a victory to keep control of their own destiny to qualify for the BIG EAST tournament, but it was the Pirates that would control the match from the start. Led by Kari Belin's hitting, Seton Hall had the Eagles back on their heels, scratching to find any offense. Belin finished the match with 14 kills and 14 digs.
Other notable performers for BC were sophomore Laura Powers, who contributed four kills and 11 digs and junior Lauren Schwer who added four kills and 10 digs.
For Seton Hall, Jenna Meyers complimented Belin's performance with 13 kills and nine digs. Freshman Shawn McDonald led the Pirate attack with 34 assists.
Boston College returns to action on Tuesday, October 30 at Central Connecticut. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
