NEWTON, Mass. - Scott Darci's goal from Juan Romera with just 2:04 remaining in double overtime gave Dartmouth a 1-0 victory over Boston College at the Newton Campus Soccer Field on Wednesday. Both teams had several chances in the extra sessions, but the Big Green prevailed and snapped the Eagles' 11-game unbeaten streak on their home turf.
Dartmouth (4-6-0) appeared to score the game's first goal in the opening half when Eagle goalkeeper Joe Roos fell into the net with the ball, but the officials ruled that the Big Green had committed a foul on the play and nullified the goal.
Boston College's (8-5-0) best chance in the game came in the 74th minute when Adam Pfeifer broke in alone on Dartmouth keeper Ben Gebre-Medhin, but was tackled from behind to stop the chance.
Gebre-Medhin made six saves, while two Eagles keepers combined to stop 11 shots. Roos made two saves in one half of play, while Danny Caruso entered at halftime and made eight saves.
The Eagles will next face Georgetown in a BIG EAST contest on Sunday, October 28 at 1 p.m. at home.
