Boston? The Boston College sailing team had a couple of solid results this weekend.? The Eagles placed ninth out of eighteen teams competing at Brown University.? Senior Tyler Pruett and freshman Joy MacDougall paced the Eagles with a fifth-place finish in the A division, while junior Neil McLaughlin and freshman Spencer Heydt raced to a seventeenth-place showing in the B division.
In the Women?s Stu Nelson regatta the Eagles grabbed another ninth-place result.? Junior Carrie Howe and freshman Jen Doyle finished twelfth in the A division and Junior Cryssa Byers paired with junior Kate Wisotzkey for sixth-place in the B division.? The event was held at Connecticut College and raced under light conditions on Saturday, and moderate winds on Sunday.
Sailing is looking ahead to next weekend where they will try and qualify for the Frosh and Women?s Atlantic Coast Championships.? The Eagles have already qualified in the Coed division and hope to complete the trifecta with strong performances this weekend.? ?As of late the team has had a difficult time scoring well in the major events but has continued to place very high in smaller local events,? said, an optimistic, Head Coach Tim Herzog.
