Men's Soccer Shut Out By Irish

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Boston College dropped a 2-0 BIG EAST decision to Notre Dame on Saturday night at Alumni Field. The win was Notre Dame's fifth straight. The 21st-ranked Eagles dropped to 8-4-0 overall and 5-3-0 in league games, while the Irish improved to 8-4-0 and 5-2-0 in BIG EAST contests.
After a scoreless first half, Notre Dame jumped on the scoreboard when Devon Presod headed the ball past Eagle keeper Danny Caruso in the 48th minute. Erich Braun notched the insurance goal in the 54th minute.
Caruso stopped two shots, while his Irish counterpart Chris Sawyer was called on to make three saves. Notre Dame out-shot BC by a 12-5 margin. Chris Cleary, Guy Melamed, Adam Pfeifer, Ramon Smith and Bobby Thompson each were credited with shots in the game.
Boston College returns home on Wednesday, October 24 when the team faces Dartmouth in a 2 p.m. game at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
