BC Weekly Diary With Bobby Thompson

This week has been long, three games in seven days,
It was an exciting week in a large number of ways.
We won two of the games and improved to eight and three,
But the one that we last was more important to me.
We lost to UConn, national champs of last year,
But we played with passion, love and no fear.
We outplayed them at that with shock in their eyes,
But to our team our efforts were no big surprise.
We've known for sometime and the rest will soon see,
There's a new power in college soccer, the men's team at BC.
.
I just decided to sum up this week in a poem to makes things interesting. The game against UConn was a very big night for our team. We proved that our program has reached the next level. The two victories we had over West Virginia and Providence were both 3-2 victories over teams that we have beaten much easier. However, in soccer, anything can happen. So, WVU and PC played hard and battled our team until the end, but in both games we prevailed.
The two games saw us play a bit below par, but there were a group of kids that kept us winning. One of the signs of a good team is when you're not playing that well as a team, you have people who step it up to help win. These last two games it was Chris Cleary, Ramon Smith, Adam Pfeifer, Bill Arnault and Guy Melamed who kept our team alive. Everyone else worked and played their roll, but these guys made the difference. Our team realizes its faults and is ready to pick it up for the season's home stretch.
