Hockey To Unveil National Championship Banner Against Notre Dame

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The hockey team will unveil its 2001 national championship banner in a pre-game ceremony prior to the Notre Dame game on Oct. 26. The game is set for a 7 p.m. face off.

The 2000-01 Eagles posted a 33-8-2 record on their way to the national title. In the championship game, Boston College defeated North Dakota, 3-2, in overtime at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y. on April 7.

This year's squad will open its home schedule on Friday, Oct. 19 against UMass-Lowell in a 7 p.m. game at Kelley Rink. The Eagles have opened the 2001-02 season with a 1-1-1 mark.
