
Men's Swimming Drowns Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass.- Boston College men's swimming and diving team collected 10 first place finishes to Holy Cross's six to defeat the Crusaders, 168-129, at the Hart Center Pool in Worcester, Mass. on Tues. Jan. 31. Diver Mike Wilt was the only Eagle to win multiple events.
Beginning the meet with a win, the 200-medley relay of Paul Callahan, Marc Manganiello, Russ Keil and Chris Murphy took first place with a time of 1:43.
The Eagles next win came in the 100 backstroke, when Callahan swam a 58.33. In the next event Manganiello won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.
In the 50 freestyle event, Keil won with a time of 22.72. Winning the 200 backstroke, David Bliss swam a 2:08. Following with win in the next two events, Brian O'Neill won the 200 breaststroke (2:20) and John Sourbeer won the 500 freestyle (5:04).
In one-meter diving, Mike Wilt picked up his 21st win of the season. Wilt then followed up with another win in the 3-meter diving event.
Ending the meet just like it begun, in victory, with the same swimmers, Murphy, Callahan, Keil and Manganiello won the 200 freestyle relay.
The Boston College men's swimming and diving team will end their regular season, with their last home meet against BIG EAST rival St. John's on Sat. Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
