The Series: In 68 previous matchups, BC has a 36-29-3 mark against Maine. BC has played the Black Bears 23 times in the six seasons that Jerry York has been at the helm of the Eagles, with Maine holding a 12-9-2 advantage. In games played at BC, the Eagles are 18-10-2 since the two teams' first meeting on Dec. 11, 1979. This year's senior class is 7-6-1 against Maine. In the 15 seasons that BC and Maine have met regularly in HOCKEY EAST play, the series belongs to the Eagles, who have a slim 28-27-3 series lead. Last season the Eagles and Black Bears split four meetings, including the HOCKEY EAST championship game, in which Maine's Niko Dimitrakos scored the game-winner with three seconds remaining to win the game, 3-2, and the title.
Please Take Note: * With his offensive outburst against Providence last weekend (four goals, two assists in two games), senior forward Brian Gionta moved into sole posses- sion of the third spot on BC's career goals list with 107 goals. He is three goals behind number two on the list, Joe Mullen, and only five behind leader David Emma. Gionta is now on top of the league scoring list with 21 points.

* BC's Gionta, Krys Kolanos, and Kobasew are 1-2-3 in league scoring through 14 games. Gionta is the leader with 21 points, Kolanos has 20 and Kobasew has 19.
* In BC's 5-2 win over BU on Jan. 7, Gionta became only the fourth Eagle to ever tally 100 goals and 100 assists in his career. He is just six goals short of becoming the all-time BC leader in goals scored.
* Gionta is the BC scoring leader in games played against Maine. He has 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 14 career games against the Black Bears.
