Boston College Volleyball Falls to West Virginia in Conference Opener

Chestnut Hill, Mass- The Boston College volleyball team lost to West Virginia in four games this evening at the Power Gym. The match was each team's BIG EAST Conference opener moving West Virginia to 1-0, and Boston Colege to 0-1 in BIG EAST Conference play.
West Virginia took the first two games by scores of 15-8 and 15-10, but the Eagles gave the Mountaineers a fight in the third game winning it 15-9. The Mountaineers came back to finish the match in the fourth game 15-6. West Virginia had 4 players in double figures for kills led by Jamie Boardman with seventeen.
Junior Brooke Shull (San Diego, CA) had seventeen kills to lead the team and sophomore Rachel Bach (Jacksonville, Fla.) was not far behind with eleven kills for the Eagles, now 3-11 overall, and 0-1 in the BIG EAST.
Boston College's next match will be at home in the Power Gym on Sunday, when they take on Pittsburgh at 1 p.m. in their second match of BIG EAST Conference play.
