Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team split a pair of matches today in the University of South Florida Tournament, losing the first match of the day to the host school and picking up a victory in the second match against Furman.
The Eagles defeated Furman three games to one, as junior outside hitter Brooke Shull (San Diego, Calif.) recorded 30 kills and freshman setter Jeana Boyle (Boca Raton, Fla.) registered 49 assists.
The Lady Paladins took an early edge, winning the first game 18-16, but the Eagles proved too much for them to handle, as BC took the next three 15-12, 15-4 and 15-9.
