Women's Cross Country Ranked Tenth in National Poll

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College women's cross country team is ranked tenth nationally in the FinishLynx National Cross Country Poll for the week of September 18.
The Eagles have come out of the blocks strong to start the 2000 campaign. Head coach Randy Thomas' troops swept the top nine places at a regional meet in Durham, N.H. to open the season (September 9). Junior Katie Ryan (Elmira, N.Y.) won the 5000-meter race in 18:02, leading a pack of eight Eagles who all finished within :57 of each other.
The squad then went on to sweep the top five places, led by sophomore Maggie Guiney's (Red Bank, N.J.) winning time of 19:10, at the Dartmouth Invitational on September 16.
The Eagles next travel to the Iona College Meet of Champions in Bronx, N.Y. on September 30.
