Somboonsiri Leads Eagles, Again, At Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. - The Lady Eagles were one of 17 teams to compete this past weekend in the two - day Dartmouth Invitational at Hanover Country Club. Boston College faired well in overall team competition, placing 7th with a 673 (338-335). Individually, Roxanne Somboonsiri was the top finisher for the Eagles. The sophomore from Phoenix, Ariz., finished the tournament in 4th place, firing a 152 (77-75) over the two days. The entire field consisted of 86 golfers. Channing Lovejoy also made the Eagles proud, coming in 24th while junior Suzzanne Carrazza pulled in at 39th place. Sophomore Marissa Zephran rounded off the Eagles' performance this weekend with a 184 (95-89), pulling in at 56th.
The Princeton women's golf team claimed the Dartmouth Invitational Golf Title, leading all other teams by 21 strokes when all was said and done. Princeton trailed by two shots going into the second round, but quickly made up ground to claim the victory. The Tigers shot a 612 (315-297) over the two days, setting a tournament record. Princeton's own Adrienne Gill led the field of individual golfers, opening with a 77 and firing a 71 on day two for a total of 148.
On Saturday, September 23rd, the Lady Eagles will be competing in the Yale Invitational at the Yale University Golf Course in New Haven, Conn.
