Volleyball Falls to Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Opener

The Boston College volleyball team dropped its season opener, 3-2, to Wisconsin-Milwaukee despite battling back from a two-set deficit to force a fifth and deciding set.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee took the first two sets, 15-5 and 15-11, before the Eagles mounted a comeback and rallied to tie the match at 2-2. They won the third and fourth sets 15-7 and 15-3. Wisconsin-Milwaukee earned the win by taking the third set, 15-11.
Sophomore Rachel Bach led the Eagles with 16 kills and added six digs. Freshman Jeana Boyle led the team with 12 digs. Classmate Laura Powers added eight kills, while junior Brooke Shull and freshman each had six. Senior captain Julia El-Hag and Schull each had seven digs.
Boston College falls to 0-1 with the loss while Wisconsin-Milwaukee moves to 1-0. The Eagles next face South Florida at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2 in the South Florida Classic in Tampa.
