Women's Hoops Announces 2000-01 Schedule

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College women's basketball 2000-2001 schedule will feature 27 regular season games, including 16 BIG EAST Conference contests. The schedule will feature 10 teams that participated in the 2000 NCAA Tournament, including three Final Four participants. Boston College will open the season at the Michigan State Tournament on November 17-18. The Eagles will play Arkansas State in the first round of the tournament that also features Tennessee Tech and host Michigan State.
The Eagles will play five non-conference opponents at home in Silvio O. Conte Forum and one game at the FleetCenter in Boston, Mass. Boston College opens at home against Duke University on November 22, and will also host Dartmouth College, University of Buffalo, and Fairfield University in December. The Eagles will host Purdue University at the FleetCenter on December 3.
Boston College will play 14 away games, including eight BIG EAST road games. The Eagles will travel to Holy Cross for the annual contest against the Lady Crusaders on November 29. Boston College will open the month of December with a trip to the University of Tennessee on December 6. The Eagles other non-conference road games in December include LaSalle University on December 9 and Kent State University on December 21.
In conference action, the Eagles are scheduled to play three league opponents home and away. The Eagles will play Georgetown University, Seton Hall University, and Virginia Tech two times during the season. Boston College will play one home game against the University of Connecticut, University of Miami, University of Notre Dame, University of Pittsburgh, and Villanova University. The Eagles will play one away game at Providence College, Rutgers University, St. John's University, Syracuse University, and West Virginia University.
