Two Women's Lacrosse Players Earn Academic Honors

Two Boston College women's lacrosse players -- seniors Jaime Baldante and Susan Pitt -- were named to the 2000 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Academic Squad, according to an announcement made on July 5.
Student-athletes selected to the academic team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.2, be a starter or important reserve on the team, and hold junior or senior class standing. The 2000 season marks the eighth year that the IWLCA has selected an academic squad.
Baldante, a midfielder, registered two goals and one assist in 16 games this past spring. She completed his collegiate career with seven goals and four assists in 62 games.
Pitt finished the 2000 season as the Eagles' third-leading scorer, recording 39 points in 14 games. She tied for the team lead with 34 goals. Pitt finished her career with 78 points -- 66 goals and 12 assists -- in 50 games.
Boston College finished the 2000 lacrosse season with a 6-10 record.
