1999-2000 Wrestlers Earn Academic Recognition

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The 1999-2000 Boston College wrestling team ranked fourth in the National Wrestling Coaches Association's annual list of Top 25 Academic Teams. The Eagles earned a second place ranking for the 1998-1999 season.
In addition, junior Steve Pregiato (Suffren, N.Y.) earned Honorable Mention for his efforts in the classroom. Pregiato, who placed third within the 141-lb. division of the East Coast Wrestling Association, holds a 3.37 grade point average in accounting.
The top teams were selected by taking the grade point averages of each school's starting 10 wrestlers, along with two backups that competed in at least one varsity dual.
Boston College compiled a cumulative 3.14 grade point average. Princeton was the top finisher with a 3.37 grade point average. Stanford (3.31) and Brown (3.18) ranked second and third respectively.
