Two Women's Lacrosse Members Named Regional All-Americans

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Two members of the women's lacrosse team have been honored as All-Americans, according to head coach MaryAnn Foley Schiller. Junior Emily Ryan and sophomore Lauren Miller have both named to the New England Region All-America Second Team.
In 16 games, Ryan recorded 50 points on 34 goals and 16 assists. She also led the Eagles with 54 draw controls and was second overall with 47 ground balls. In 46 career matches, she has notched 98 goals and 28 assists for 126 points. She also served as a team co-captain during the 2000 season.
Miller tallied 72 points on the season in 16 games on 31 goals and 41 assists. The team scoring leader, her 41 assists were second overall in the nation. She led the country in assists per game with a 2.56 clip. She was tied for seventh overall in scoring nationally and was tied for sixth in points per game with 4.50. Her season was highlighted two career-best, eight-point efforts (four goals, four assists) against Denver on February 21 and against Notre Dame on April 8. In 30 career games, Miller has tallied 54 goals and 63 assists for 117 points.
The women's lacrosse team finished the 2000 season with a 6-10 record and with back-to-back wins over Davidson and Holy Cross. The team will join the newly formed BIG EAST women's lacrosse league in the 2001 season after recently competing as an independent.
