Several BC Tracksters Compete At Mt. Sac Relays

Several members of the women's track team competed at the annual Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. April 14-15.

Shannon Smith ran an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 9:18.66 in the 3000-meters. Her time also bettered her second-place time on the Boston College all-time list by 15 seconds. She currently sits two seconds behind former eight-time All-American Angie Graham.

Sohomores Katie Ryan and Sharon VanTuyl joined freshmen Cate and Maggie Guiney and Laura Smith in the 3000-meter race, as well.

The six athletes also raced in the 1500-meter run. Shannon Smith placed second in her heat with a 4:26.02, which also moved her to second-place all-time behind Graham.
