Men's Golf Places Eighth At Rhode Island Invitational

PORTSMOUTH, RI- The Boston College men's golf team finished eighth at the University of Rhode Island Newport Invitational on the 6,850-yard par 71 Green Valley Country Club Course on April 24-25.
Rhode Island won the 16-team event with a score of 609, followed by the University of Hartford (619), and Providence College (621). Boston College finished with a two-day score of 641 (316-325).
Miroslay Holub of Hartford won the individual championship with a score of 147 (73-74), followed by Lee Birchall of Dartmouth (73-77-150), and teammates Thomas Giles (75-76-151) and Jim Salinetti (72-80-152) of Rhode Island.
Rich Tilghman led Boston College and tied for fifth place with a score of 153 (76-77).
