The Cornell University women's lacrosse team defeated Boston College, 15-7, behind five goals from sophomore Ginny Miles and three each from freshman Sarah Averson and sophomore Jaimee Reynolds.
The Big Red posted four goals to open the game and allowed the Eagles only two scores in the first half, both by junior Honor Crowther. Miles netted three of her five goals in the half, while sophomore Lori Wohlschlegal added two tallies, handing Cornell an 8-2 halftime lead. Boston College held Cornell scoreless for the half's final 11:00, but could only muster one goal with :42 left.
Boston College opened the second half with a goal by sophomore Lauren Miller, but Miles answered :20 later for Cornell to regain a six-goal lead. Reynolds added three straight scores and sophomore Kari Zarzecki posted the final score of the game to give the Big Red a 15-6 win.
Cornell goalkeepers Carrie Giancola (22 saves) and Amy Sharenko (two saves) combined for the win, which moved the Big Red to 8-3 on the season. Eagle keeper Valerie Leuchs made 15 saves in the loss. Boston College fell to 4-9 overall.
