Ryan Earns BIG EAST Rookie Of The Week Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College freshman pitcher Kimberly Ryan earned BIG EAST Co-Rookie of the Week honors for the week ending Apr. 10 following a 4-1 week.
Ryan, who shared the award with Courtney Fitzgerald of St. John's, pitched her first career shutout in a one-hit, 8-0 win over Holy Cross on Apr. 5, then followed that with a three-hitter against Maine on Apr. 6. In her BIG EAST debut, Ryan struck out 10 in a one-hit win at St. John's on Apr. 8. Against Seton Hall on Apr. 10, Ryan fanned a career-best 15 batters and allowed just three hits in a 2-1 win.
For the week, Ryan was 4-1 with a 0.65 earned-run average and 61 strikeouts in 43 innings pitched. She is 5-6 with a 1.15 ERA and 98 strikeouts on the season.
The Eagles (9-14) will be in action on Wednesday, Apr. 12 when they travel to Brown.
